About Us

 

Addison County Readers is an all volunteer non-profit organization. Our mission is to support literacy in Addison County through activities such as distributing books, providing educational opportunities and raising literacy awareness. 

 

ACR formed in 2007 when Ilsley Public Library introduced Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to the Middlebury community. Volunteers quickly came forward to establish ACR as a local DPIL affiliate and expand the program to include preschoolers in all Addison County communities.

ACR's board recruits children to participate in the program and secures funds to cover the cost of the Imagination Library books and postage. ACR depends on support from the community: our towns, civic organizations, local businesses, and donations from generous individuals.
