Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: Program Details

Who is eligible for this program?

Any child from birth to five years of age who resides in Addison County is welcome to enroll.

What does the Imagination Library offer?

Children receive one free, age-appropriate book that is mailed to their home each month until their fifth birthday. The books are theirs to keep. Originally, all books were hard cover. However, as a cost containment measure beginning in January 2010, children over age 2 receive quality paperbacks; younger children continue to receive hardcover books.

How much does it cost to participate?

It is free to all children enrolled. Addison County Readers, Inc. pays for the cost of the program, $30 per year for each child, raised through local donations and fundraising.

“Receiving the books is wonderful because we can’t really keep up with our son’s appetite for reading.”
